This part of our software is very crucial for Nyx Cipher. We believe that any serious crypto project should have a website. For that reason we only consider to add projects who have a website.
A website can tell a lot about the team, how much effort they put into the project and how much dedication they have towards it.
We think that many serial scammers do not care to build quality websites, often they use website builder tools such as Wix or Wordpress to quickly set something up, generate some text and images and go for it. Our goal is to detect such behavior and prevent scams.
Our system detect any new website found from our sources such as Discord, Telegram, Youtube, Twitter or deployer channel. It will scrape all content of a website, generate a summary, categorize it and extract its socials and links (whitepaper link for example).
After that we will try to verify the correct contract address connected to the projects website, If it is not possible we will verify the contract through Telegram or Twitter. This process is full automatic and it is exactly how any user is doing it the manual way.
Our goal is to detect newly published websites in real time, analyze and categorize them and then join its socials, which we only consider if they come from the main website.
Crypto tokens listed on Nyx Cipher are grouped by website and not by token address, that way we can already filter out a lot of scams which other tools like Pumpfun will list without verifying its website owner.
Socials we will only consider if they are coming directly from the website it self, that way we can make sure, if the project is scam -> it means the website is scam.
In the following is a screenshot of our website scraping tool going through hundreds of website daily in order to prepare them for display on Nyx Cipher.
Soon we will also consider a lot more data to detect serial scammers and potential great projects who put a lot of effort into its project.
We can not tell you which metrics we will consider to detect that yet, because we don't want to give the bad people upfront knowledge.
One of those factors would be hosting the same website on the same IP address over and over again.
Many scammers are lazy, they tend to host the same website on the same dedicated server over and over, by detecting such behavior in our backend we can blacklist projects early on and prevent scams.
